Today my wife and I took a short 40 minute drive from Orlando to visit Mount Dora. It is an absolute beautiful place to visit. Our reason to go was to check out a restaurant called WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi. When we arrived it was outdoor eating only. We were seated right away but I noticed a line to get in as we were leaving. We began with edamame and a pork belly bao. Both very good. However it was the main course we were excited about. We ordered the sushi crunch wrap, a sushi donut, and a sushi bomb. The sushi bomb and the donut were fantastic but it is the Crunch wrap that steals the show. It is big enough to share. I have to say we were extremely happy with the food and service at WAVE. We were completely stuffed so we walked around the historic district. There are several neat shops to discover in the area and a lot of other restaurants which we want to go back and try sometime. We walked down to Grantham Park to visit the only freshwater lighthouse in the state of Florida. The scenery is absolutely stunning. Before heading back to the car we made one last stop at the Village Coffee Pot which is right in the middle of the historic district. A great place for a quick ice cream of coffee fix. I suggest taking a day trip or even spending a couple nights in Mount Dora. We will definitely be back. Check out Mount Dora's Website below for much more info.
