St. Augustine Florida: We decided to take a short trip over to St Augustine, Americas oldest city. We drove up from Orlando (only a 2 hour drive) and stayed at the St Augustine Beach Courtyard. It is right across from the beach and only 5 minutes to the historic downtown. We drove into downtown and paid $15 for parking. You can find cheaper parking but we just wanted to get out and wander around. The lights are absolutely beautiful. The next time we may look at doing the holiday lights tour but we were happy just walking around. We stopped for dinner at a place called Catch 27. This may be my favorite restaurant ever. Click HERE to see the food we had and please like. I would say this is a can’t miss. We had the deviled egg BLT w/ southern fried oyster, the Octopus Empanadas, and the land and sea (scallops and pork belly). The next morning we visited the St. Augustine Light House museum. Well worth the ticket price of $12.95. Lots of history and great views from the top of the lighthouse. We then headed back into the historic district to have lunch at Harry’s Seafood and Bar. I had the bourbon street salmon and my wife had the shrimp and scallop Orleans. Both were fantastic. There is so much more to see and do then we had the time for. Make sure to visit their websites before you go.
